Vyper Dive Modes Explained.
-
- Air Mode: Sets you up for regular diving on air. The display gives you current depth, dive time and no decompression limit (how long you can stay for) and more.
- Nitrox Mode: Adjusts your Vyper to allow for EANx mixes from 21% (air) to 50%. If you go beyond the depth limit of your ppO2, which you can adjust, an alarm will sound. Other display information during the dive is the same.
- Free Mode: A snorkelling / apnea mode that records your maximum depths and dive times. Crucially, without recording your decompression information or alarming you for a rapid ascent.
- Gauge Mode: This simple makes the Vyper a digital depth gauge and bottom timer. Again it does not record any decompression information or calculate your no decompression limits. This mode is often used by technical divers who plan & manage their dive via an alternative method. Once in gauge mode you can only change out to a dive mode after 48hrs as the computer has not recorded any decompression information.
- Off Mode: This deactivates the Vyper’s water activation so the computer will not automatically turn on when it gets wet.
