Description

Scubapro Galileo Luna Dive Computer, is a superb dive computer for all divers. WIth a really large and clear to read screen the Galileo Luna is a really popular computer with UK divers needing a clear, easy to read dive computer.

Scubapro Galileo LUNA is everything you need for an extrodinary underwater experience, and the Luna is not limted as it has additional features that can be added as optional upgrades later (Heart Rate Monitor and Predictive Multi-Gas).

The Luna offers the diver the opportunity to change the display screens to suit the information the diver requires as well as having the ability to upload dive site maps and other images for reference during a dive. The Luna has the best electronic compass built in and offers all this with a simple, user changeable battery.

All the Luna is a fully functioning Nitrox computer allowinfg mixes of upto 100% O2 and the Luna’s functions are operated by 3 positive, large buttons that drive an intuitive menu allowing divers to easily set things like gas mixes.

Scubapro Galileo Luna Dive Computer – Features

  • ZHL8 ADT MB algorithm allows you to program one nitrox mix (21-100% O2).
  • PDIS (Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops) calculates an intermediate stop based on N2 loading, current and previous dives and breathing mixes for safer diving.
  • Microbubble levels let you adjust the level of conservatism in the algorithm to match your experience level, age and physical conditioning.
  • Hoseless gas integration provides tank pressure, true remaining bottom time (RBT), and allows air consumption to be factored into the decompression calculation.
  • Oil-filled technology allows for a slim display casing design that fits comfortably on the arm.
  •
The intuitive digital compass with bearing memory features an actual half-compass rose that can be used at a full 90-degree tilt, making it a true aid to underwater navigation.
  • Extra large dot-matrix screen available in 3 display modes.
  • A choice of screen configurations lets you pick the display that best suits your individual tastes.
  • You navigate through the system using three clearly marked buttons with prompts so you never get lost in the system.
  • Clear text, multi-language alarms.
  • Graphic data display.
  • Personalization.
  • You can rotate the screen 180 degrees, enabling the dive computer to be worn with buttons on top or on bottom.
  • Galileo’s memory chip can hold over 100 hours of dive profile data and 100 bitmap images as a wreck map the diver can use to orient himself.
  • User changeable battery
  • An exclusive UWATEC achievement: the option to update Galileo’s firmware through the infrared interface. You can download upgrade packages over the Internet to get new features and new languages

Scubapro Galileo Luna Technical Overview

Scubapro Galileo Luna Hoseless gas integration

Scubapro Galileo LUNA uses a radio transmitter mounted on the regulator first stage to transmit tank pressure via an interference-free coded radio link to the wrist unit. The tank pressure data is used to provide a real remaining bottom time calculation and can be used to asses the effect of physical effort on tissue ongassing.

Scubapro Galileo Luna Navigational system with digital compass

Scubapro Galileo includes a full-tilt digital compass plus bearing setting and memory feature for fool proof navigation. Its sophisticated technology allows the compass to operate correctly regardless of the position of the diver€™s wrist and graphically marks the direction set, guiding you back on course in case you stray.

Scubapro Galileo Extra large dot-matrix screen available in 3 display modes

Allows for different personal preferences and diving styles, Galileo can be quickly and easily set to display data in 3 different screens options.

Scubapro Galileo PDIS (Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops)

PDIS optimizes your dive in complete security. The PDIS option calculates an intermediate stop based on how much nitrogen uptake your body has endured, taking into account your current dive, previous dives and breathing mixes. This proposed stop allows you to reduce on gassing and slowly release nitrogen while you continue cruising along and enjoy your dive. PDIS is a unique scientific application from UWATEC, for safer, more optimized diving in both the recreational and technical arena. Scubapro Galileo Clear text, multi-language alarms

All alerts and alarms are displayed in clear text on the large dotmatrix display. For example, if the diver is ascending too fast, Galileo will display ASCENT TOO FAST! Text alerts are shown in one of the 6 pre-loaded languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch, more will be available through downloads) and supplemented by visual and audible warnings. User friendly. This multi-language feature is also used for all interface elements, such as menu items. This, coupled with Galileo€™s extreme user friendliness, translates to an advanced dive computer that is as easy to use as a cell phone.

Scubapro Galileo Graphic data display

Galileo also offers a bar-graph representation of the tissue loading and of oxygen toxicity levels. The graphic possibilities extend to displaying the dive profile on screen during the dive; if decompression or MB level stops are needed, Galileo will display their depth and duration in the profile.

Scubapro Galileo Personalisation

The diver can input his personal information (name, certification numbers) and also emergency contact, medical (such as allergies) and dive insurance information into Galileo; in case of an accident the emergency information is displayed at the touch of a button.

Scubapro Galileo’s memory chip

Scubapro Galileo’s memory chip can hold over 100 hours of dive profile data and 100 bitmap images as a wreck map the diver can use to orient himself.

An exclusive UWATEC achievement

The option to update Galileo€™s firmware through the infrared interface. You can download upgrade packages over the Internet to get new features and new languages. The NEW free Apnea package is available on our web site–for Galileo only–and at no cost. SmartTRAK is also used to customize Galileo€™s settings and display all dive related information. Galileo€™s memory chip can hold over 100 hours of dive profile data and 100 bitmap images as a wreck map the diver can use to orient himself.

User replaceable battery & depth rating

Thanks to its oil-filled electronics compartment, Galileo is rated to a maximum depth of 330 meters (per EN13319 standards), while the battery is contained in an airfilled housing allowing the diver to easily change it if necessary.

Predictive Multi-Gas upgrade:

Purchasing this PMG feature at a later time, or whenever you need it, allows LUNA to use up to 3 Nitrox mixes (21-100% O2) during the dive, calculating the ascent schedule for all possible combinations of the programmed mixes. The outcome of the different decompression calculations can be shown on the screen in a dedicated deco summary screen.

Heart Rate Monitor upgrade:

Galileo’s heart rate monitor, jointly developed with Polar (world leader in the field of heart rate monitors), not only measures and records the heartbeat during the dive but allows the dive computer to factor the intensity of the exercise into the decompression calculation, as it is reported by the diver’s physiology. The HRM is also ideal for Apnea divers, measuring heart rate and sounding an alarm if the heart rate drops below the set level.
