Dive Computers, have become a standard piece of diving equipment in recent years, by monitoring the divers dive profile constantly throughout a dive the dive computer is able to accurately calculate the nitrogen loading for a diver and therefore the allowable dive times and any decompression profile much more accurately than a traditional dive table.

Divers still need to understand the physiology of what is happening to them during a dive and then use the increased accuracy of the dive computer to enhance the dive and the divers safety. Dive computers come in many styles from a large display traditional dive computer to a watch style that can be worn throughout the day as well as used for diving.
